Welcome to Root Notes. By using our mobile application, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

By downloading, installing, or using the Root Notes app ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

4.2 Billing

Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store. By subscribing, you agree to Apple's terms and conditions for in-app purchases.

4.3 Auto-Renewal

Monthly and yearly subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings.

4.4 Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple according to their refund policy. We do not process refunds directly. To request a refund, visit Apple's Report a Problem page or contact Apple Support.

4.5 Free Trial

If offered, free trial periods convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends. You will be charged at the start of the next billing period.

All content in the App, including but not limited to text, graphics, audio, video, software, and trademarks, is owned by Root Notes or its licensors and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

If you submit any content through the App (such as feedback or suggestions), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, modify, and display that content for the purpose of improving our services.

The App may integrate with third-party services (such as Firebase, OpenAI). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party services.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ROOT NOTES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Root Notes and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

12. Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Sections regarding intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitations of liability survive termination.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Hong Kong SAR, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

15. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unsuccessful, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Hong Kong.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Root Notes regarding the use of the App.
